After the very harsh winter season, as soon as there is a feeling of mild warmth in the air, as if a wave of happiness runs in the nature and not only does the weather change, but there is a change in the gesture, color and voice of the birds . The journey of Meter gauge train used to be a world in itself. From late 80s to mid 90s when I had traveled the trains were operated with steam locomotive, then later from 1995 the train was began to operated with Ydm4 diesel locomotive  .Then two to three pairs of passenger trains and three pairs of express trains would pass through our lakhimpur railway staition which came from Bareilly, Palia and Mailani junction and reached Lucknow via Sitapur. I usually used to travel from Lakhimpur to Lucknow and return from Lucknow to Lakhimpur and it took about four hours to complete this journey as trains were often crossed due to single meter gauge railway line, which made trains had to stay at the station lying between this route . It may seem strange to enjoy a morning walk on the chilly mountains during the winter season, but what is the harm in enjoying life? Perhaps it was something that gave me a warmth of excitement and I used to walk on such a journey . In the late 80s, when I was ten years old, the birds I saw around my house I was always be curious to see them and that's how I became fond of it and established myself as a birdwatcher .   The area where I had spent my childhood was filled with a lot of species of birds and probably because of the greenery of the trees, the birds loved this area very much .  It was my pleasure to be so close to the birds but at that time it was a challenge for me to identify birds by name . But wherever there is a will, there is a way and it happened that as my hobby grew, things got easier , I remember how I got some books on birds from a library in the city and I started identifying some common birds by name. That decade of 90s was awesome for all of us because we were free at that time with these unnecessary tasks that we do all day today. People used to say that wearing a red shirt and not going in front of the bull on the street would run otherwise and believe me, bull ran me once or twice. The sunshine of winter and the sight of some birds on the roof and garden of the house itself is a reason for a bird lover to be happy that the beginning of his day is so beautiful. Our Earth completes one round of sun in oval shape in 365 days , and in this process, as our earth goes away from the sun, the winter season starts in the northern part of our country and upper portion of the world too .When this happens, many natural changes start happening in our area as the days get shorter, the temperature starts falling and the leaves start falling from the trees. In the mid 80s, there were no televisions in everyone's homes, but in one house, people used to gather to watch their favorite programs, then whether it was a Hindu or a Muslim house, there was no difference . When the serial Ramayan serial by Ramanand Sagar started on our black & white TV on Doordarshan channel on 25 January 1987, it was as if we all became part of Ram Raj for a few hours. We were a Muslim family and our neighbors were mostly from the Hindu family. In our colony, many of those Hindu families used to come to our house to watch the Ramayan serial on TV and on the day this serial was broadcast , in our house too we were quickly disposed of all work so that we all could see Ramayan together.
