My Life Story 🔦 - Part 2

That decade of 90s was awesome for all of us because we were free at that time with these unnecessary tasks that we do all day today. People used to say that wearing a red shirt and not going in front of the bull on the street would run otherwise and believe me, bull ran me once or twice. And I would immediately jumped to the boundary of the neighborhood house in my colony.
At that time people had a lot to tell the scary stories of witches and ghosts and many times people told me that there is a witch or ghost on that mango or peepal tree but I have never seen anything like this till today.
Often Madari used to come to show the dance of black bear or monkey and also people used to come on cycle with bioscope  and all of us children used to come to see this spectacle with ten paise . It was a fun day, as early as four in the evening, a game of cricket or Eye Spy or hide and seek was used to play and before the sun went down, clean the glass lamps inside the houses and fill it with kerosine oil to prepare and If the electricity gone then had could burned it with matches to get light  . Till then, the facility of inverter was not available like today only some rich people had generators .
Very few cars of Fiat car and Maruti 800 were seen on the roads but few people also had Bajaj scooters, usually people had the best way of transporting the bicycle. Ambassador cars were used for taxi only when traveling to other cities. Jeep were commonly used for government work and riding . But when we used to travel the horse cart , current generation could hardly know its fun, the horse cart and their horses had stopped near our colony and some horses were usually grazed in our forest colony.
In those days I used to reach my neighbor's house by jumping down a small boundary wall.
And in the evening we often completed the homework got from our school in the light of lamps and different types of insect moths kept hovering around that lamp. At that time our pen of choice was the fountain pen, in which chelpark ink used to write and when finished, dipped the pen nib in the ink vial and filled the ink. Those days there was something more fun to read under the starry sky and we sometimes search for the old lady towards the moon full of light, whose stories were told to us.
We used to watch the stars while lying in the open courtyard on the bed and focused the light of the torch towards the sky..... to be continued in next blog
